Pearce Joins Hines, to Lead Canadian Leasing
Commercial real estate industry veteran Jonathan Pearce has joined Hines as a senior managing director and will lead the firm’s Canadian leasing efforts and tenant-management strategies.
Pearce will also oversee the U.S.-based company’s Americas region customer centricity efforts. (Customer centricity refers to putting the customer at the forefront of all decisions, services and experiences.)
“Jonathan is an invaluable addition to Hines, bringing with him deep industry expertise and proven leasing success across Canada and the U.S.,” said Steve Luthman, CEO of Hines U.S. Midwest, Southeast and Canadian regions.
Pearce moved to Hines after approximately 10 years at Ivanhoé Cambridge where, in his last role, he headed the Montreal-based company’s U.S. office and life sciences investments.. Previously, he served as the company’s executive vice-president of leasing and development.
During his tenure at Ivanhoé Cambridge, he counselled regional teams and worked with operating partners on all leasing and development. His responsibilities covered leasing for all of the firm’s Canadian and U.S. properties and developments, comprising 120 million square feet across the office, industrial, life sciences, and retail asset classes in major markets including Toronto, Vancouver, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Boston and Mexico City.
Prior to joining Ivanhoé Cambridge, Pearce spent about 22 years with Toronto-based Avison Young as a principal and senior vice-president.
Hines said Pearce will play a vital role in maximizing leasing performance, refining strategies, and providing in-depth market intelligence to the company’s investment professionals and market officers.
“I look forward to contributing to Hines’ long-standing success and delivering exceptional value to our tenants and investors,” said Pearce.
