  • Karen Yolevski will join home-inspection firm Carson Dunlop as CEO on January 6. Yolevski has resigned from her post as chief operating officer at Toronto-based Royal LePage, where she spent approximately four years. A real estate lawyer by profession, Yolevski has held leadership positions with Stewart Title; the Nationwide Group, where she was president of the company’s home-closing and recovery services business segments; Flexiti Financial and law firm Basman Smith.
  • Kelowna, B.C.-based developer Troika Management has appointed Brad Klassen to the newly created position of chief governance officer. Klassen served as the firm’s CFO for approximately 20 years. Meanwhile, Jeff Kennedy has stepped into the role of CFO. Klassen will focus on regulatory compliance, advisory board coordination, and fostering partnerships with banks, investors, and joint ventures. Kennedy has worked for Troika for about four years. He previously served as vice-president of investments and developments after joining the company from Hungerford Properties. He will oversee Troika’s financial strategy, guiding its expansion and leading key projects in the Okanagan Valley and beyond. With a 25-year legacy, Troika focuses on purpose-built rentals, sustainable land development, and integrated construction to meet housing needs while creating long-term value. The addition of the CGO role and Kennedy’s promotion to CFO highlight the company’s dedication to transparency and strategic growth, said Troika.
  • Bosa Properties has appointed Phil Mitchell as director of development, financial planning and analysis. He moved to the Vancouver-based company from KPMG Canada, where he spent about five years in deal advisory roles. Prior to joining KPMG Canada, he spent approximately four years with KPMG’s U.K. division, serving in financial restructuring roles in Leeds, England. He has also worked as a structural engineer for two years with Interserve in the U.K. In other personnel move, Bosa Properties has promoted Louise Zu and Daniela Andreev to manager of corporate accounting posts; and elevated Matthew Kristo to senior development and construction manager.
  • Murray Goodman has joined Shindico’s brokerage team. With more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate, Goodman specializes in industrial and investment properties. His expertise includes negotiation, property valuation, investment sales, leasing, and development, with recent transactions exceeding $7 million. Goodman previously held senior roles at Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson and Colliers, where he was consistently a top producer. Licensed in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan, he brings extensive industry knowledge and a strong track record to his new role at Winnipeg-based Shindico.
  • Patti Parente, vice-president of development at A&W Food Services of Canada, has announced her retirement, effective March 28, 2025, after more than 25 years with the Vancouver-based company. Parente has played a key role in A&W’s success, building a strong team of development executives and fostering partnerships within the real estate industry, said the company in a news release. She will continue to provide leadership over the coming months as the company transitions its development leadership. A&W ranks as Canada’s second-largest quick-service hamburger chain.
  • JLL has added six industry leaders to its Greater Toronto Area industrial real estate brokerage team. Luis Almeida has been appointed as an executive vice-president. He also serves as president of SIOR’s Canada Central chapter. Also joining JLL are Daniel Smith (senior vice-president); Kevin Irandoust (associate vice-president); Rodrigo Silva (associate vice-president); Jakub Vidimlic (senior sales associate), and Kausi Vickneshwaran (transaction manager.)
