- Stephen Toth has joined Infrastructure BC as vice-president of infrastructure construction and delivery. Based in Victoria, he will provide leadership on managing owner obligations of construction contracts during the design and construction of vertical infrastructure projects and related corporate strategic initiatives and operations. Toth moved to Infrastructure BC from Durwest Construction, where he was vice-president of operations. He has also held leadership positions with Abstract Development, Beedie and Defence Construction Canada, among others. Owned by the BC government, Infrastructure BC supports the public sector in meeting its infrastructure needs by partnering with the private sector in the procurement of complex capital projects.
- Dave Mullins has joined Aktion Associates as vice-president of Canadian operations. He will assume leadership responsibilities in January following a transition period with Kerry Mann. Aktion plans to move Mann into a new leadership role in January. Mullins will oversee all sales, application consultants and software engineers in delivering Sage Intacct Construction and Acumatica solutions to the construction, distribution and manufacturing industries in Canada, among other duties. Aktion is a leading national software reseller based in Ohio.
- Trevor Dickie has returned to his Calgary roots. Dickie has joined Gracorp (Graham Group) as vice-president of real estate. He joined Gracorp from Campbell River, B.C.-based Broadstreet Properties, where he spent about four years as vice-president of real estate development. Dickie has lived most of his life in Calgary and is well known to its commercial real estate community. His other employers have included Dream Unlimited, Focus Equities and Kleysen Group.
- CarbiCrete a leader in decarbonized concrete, has announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Canal Block, a masonry producer in Port Colborne, Ontario. Canal Block will begin producing cement-free CarbiCrete products at the beginning of 2025, once Canal Block’s plant has been outfitted with CarbiCrete’s latest curing system. In January 2024, NGen, Canada’s global innovation cluster for advanced manufacturing, committed to contribute $3 million toward the design, building and installation of CarbiCrete’s curing equipment into Canal Block’s concrete block-making operations.
- Durval Terceira has joined Toronto-based Atria Development Corporation and its group of companies as vice-president of business development and labour relations. Terceira has more than three decades of experience in the construction industry. He has served as the co-ordinator for Carpenters’ Local 1030, where he was represented the interests of skilled-trades professionals and advocated for fair working conditions across Toronto. He also served as a Carpenters’ Regional Council executive board member and regional manager for the Carpenters’ Regional Council Local 1030. When it comes to philanthropy, Teceira is a major player. He has been a key advocate for Renos for Heroes, a non-profit group that renovates homes to improve accessibility for injured military veterans. He has led annual walkathons, raising over $1 million for the cause while striving to make a meaningful social impact. In his new role at Atria .
