Pet Valu Opens New Calgary Distribution Centre
Pet Valu has opened a new 295,000-square-foot distribution centre in Calgary.
The retailer said the opening completes its four-year supply-chain transformation and provides the firm with one of Canada’s most advanced and resilient pet-specialty distribution networks. As a result, Pet Value will be able to support the growth of its franchisees, corporate stores and online channels over the next decade.
Markham, Ont.-based Pet Valu invested approximately $100 million to consolidate nine company-operated and third-party warehouses into three new, partly automated distributions centres.
The new Calgary distribution centre will provide more than 100 full- and part-time skilled jobs in Calgary and support Pet Valu’s future growth across the Prairies, said the company.
Pet Valu plans to exit its legacy Calgary warehouse and third-party distribution space by the end of September.
