Pot Retailer High Tide Furthers GTA Expansion

High Tide continued its rapid Greater Toronto Area expansion program Monday with the opening of a new Canna Cabana recreational cannabis store in Ajax, Ont.

The new store is located in Meadow Ridge Plaza, a large commercial real estate development in the city’s east end. The location is High Tide’s second in Ajax and 170th in Canada.

Calgary-based High Tide now has 61 stores in Ontario.

“This opening builds on the success of our existing Ajax location, which is performing above our provincial average,” said Raj Grover, High Tide’s founder and CEO. TThe east end of the Greater Toronto area holds tremendous growth opportunity for the Canna Cabana brand, as we look to open more locations between Toronto and Ottawa.”

Calgary-based High Tide is Canada’s largest non-franchised cannabis retailer, operating stores in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as Ontario. The company is also looking at possible moves into the U.S. and Europe as part of a global growth effort.

When it comes to Europe, Grover have voiced plans to expand into Germany.
