PUR Completes Purchase of Dare Lands
PUR Immobilia has completed the purchase of the Dare Lands in Greater Montreal and will proceed with the redevelopment of an industrial area into residential use.
The Dare Lands, once occupied by the cookie company of the same name, are located in the Oakville neighbourhood in Saint-Lambert, Que. The redevelopment project will include the Dare and Coupal lands.
The Coupal Lands formerly housed a hardware store. The property is owned by the Doucet family. The family’s real estate firm, Gestion Immobilière Doucet, headed by Jean-Charles Doucet, is partnering with PUR. The two parcels sit near a train station and are separated from each other by a park and roadway.
PUR said the Dare Coupal project of its size in Saint-Lambert since the 1980s.
“Transforming an industrial area of such magnitude into a residential neighbourhood is an incredible opportunity for Saint-Lambert, and we have the responsibility to do so in an exemplary manner, said Yann Lapointe, a PUR co-president, in a news release.
Many of the residential units are slated to rental suites. PUR enhanced the project following consultations with citizens’ groups in 2022.
Montreal-based PUR focuses on revitalizing and redeveloping strategic sites of importance. PUR stands for Perfect Urban Redevelopment.
