Rivian Begins Construction on First Quebec Service Centre

Electric-vehicle manufacturer Rivian has broken ground on its first permanent service centre in Quebec.

Located in Laval, the facility is being developed in partnership with Groupe Montoni and marks a major step in Rivian’s Canadian expansion.

The 28,000-square-foot building is designed to meet LEED v4 certification standards and will feature EV-charging stations, low-carbon materials, and eco-friendly landscaping. The project is intended to strengthen Rivian’s presence in the province following the company’s initial operations at a temporary service location in Town of Mount Royal.

The Laval facility is expected to support Rivian’s upcoming R2 model launch in Canada, scheduled for 2026. The site will offer a full suite of services throughout the lifecycle of Rivian vehicles and is part of a broader service network that includes mobile support units.

The project also aims to deliver lasting economic impact in the region through job creation and the use of local expertise and construction partners.
