Shake Shack Opens New Location at Yorkdale Shopping Centre

Shake Shack has opened its third Toronto location, at Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

The New York-based chain’s new quick-service burger outlet is located in the mall’s food court. The Yorkdale unit is also Shake Shack’s third location in Canada.

Shake Shack expanded into Canada in June 2024 with the launch of a new 5,500-square-foot burger and milkshake restaurant located on the corner of Yonge and Dundas streets in downtown Toronto.

Shake Shack followed up on the startup with a second location that opened in Union Station in December 2024.

The company intends to open 35 locations across Canada by 2035.

Shake Shack has partnered with Toronto-based private investment companies Osmington and Harlo Entertainment to develop the chain’s Canadian business.

Since opening its first location in New York City in 2004, Shake Shacked has expanded to more than 520 locations system-wide, including about 320 in 33 U.S. States and the District of Columbia, and approximately 175 international sites.
