Shindico Acquires Shopping Centre in St. Boniface

Shindico has acquired a shopping centre in Winnipeg’s St. Boniface area.

Located at 125-161 Goulet Street, the grocery-anchored property is fully leased. Long-term tenants include the No Frill grocery chain and Royal Bank of Canada.

The acquisition furthers Winnipeg-based Shindico’s recent expansion series in its hometown, where the company operates primarily.

“We are pleased to be acquiring a shopping centre in St. Boniface, especially near the St. Boniface Hospital,” said Sandy Shindleman, the company president and CEO.

“This asset continues to advance our strategy of investing in high-quality retail centres located in prime locations throughout Winnipeg.”

The seller and purchase price were not disclosed.

Shindico has been in expansion mode in recent months,. In January, the company purchased a 4.2-acre shopping centre located at 1717-1755 Pembina Highway.

The shopping centre includes local, regional and national tenants. The Pembina acquisition came after Shindico purchased the Renfrew Mall, located in the 1600 block of Corydon Avenue in Winnipeg, in early December.
