Simons to Open First Downtown Toronto Store

Simons will open its first store in downtown Toronto on September 18.

The 112,000-square-foot store will span three floors in CF Toronto Eaton Centre. The outlet will feature labels exclusive to Simons as well as international designers, local brands, and pieces by Canadian artists.

Simons said the structure will be inspired by natural elements and leverage architecture by Lemay-Michaud Architecture and an interior design by Toronto-based Gensler Design.

“This iconic location is the perfect place to share our passion for fashion, art, and design, and we look forward to building meaningful relationships with Torontonians through the exceptional service and sense of purpose that guides everything we do,” said Bernard Leblanc, the company’s president and CEO.

The store will give Simons 19 stores across Canada and two in urban Toronto. The launch will follow the opening of the retailer’s first one, at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in August.

Simons had not divulged plans for the second urban Toronto site until now. The two stores are part of a broader investment of nearly $100 million in the Greater Toronto Area. The company has said it will offer 400 new employment opportunities across the region.

The new Toronto locations are part of the retailer’s continued national expansion.
