Smythe Opens Chinook Centre Store

Women’s fashion retailer Smythe has expanded into Alberta through the opening of a store in Calgary’s Chinook Centre.

The mall is owned by Cadillac Fairview. Toronto-based Smythe’s designs are known for their appeal to celebrities and members of Britain’s royal family.

Smythe has owned and operated one store in Toronto since 2004.

The Calgary store is Smythe’s first location in Western Canada. The company was co-founded by designers Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe.

“We enjoy a strong and loyal customer base in Alberta,” Christie Smythe told the Calgary Herald. “Calgary was an obvious choice when locating our second store.”

Lenczner hinted that the company will expand into other Canadian cities.

“Stay tuned,” she told the Herald.
