Stack Gets Financing to Expand Toronto Data Centre

Stack Infrastructure has secured US$4 billion in green financing, a move that will fund the expansion of its Toronto data-centre campus.

The financing-round completion will also fund expansion projects at its data centres in Stafford, Va., and Portland, Ore., enable them to move forward.

Stack’s Toronto 56-MW data centre, located on a 19-acre site at 3650 Danforth Avenue near downtown, was developed in partnership with investment firm First Gulf.

“With strong access to capital and a proven record of delivering at the highest level, we remain committed to providing strategic digital infrastructure solutions across the globe,” said Matt VanderZanden, president of Stack Americas.

Based in Denver, Stack is a global developer and operator of data centres, providing digital- infrastructure solutions to some of the world’s largest technology companies. The company has secured US$20 billion in debt financing to date as part of an effort to large-scale, sustainable data centres across North America, Europe, and Asia.

In August 2024, the company secured $3 billion of green financing for four U.S. projects, which followed the announcements of US$3.3 billion and US$1.3 billion financing rounds.
