Starlight Tops Off Toronto Multi-Family Rental Project

Starlight Investments has topped off its 21-storey multi-family rental project in Toronto’s Etobicoke district.

The development site is located at 557 The West Mall in Etobicoke and will comprise 249 suites.

The development is part of Starlight’s infill strategy, which reimagines underutilized land on existing properties to help meet the growing need for rental housing in Toronto. The tower stands beside the community’s existing 14-storey building. Starlight said the project will significantly expandlocal rental options while maintaining the neighbourhood’s character.

“Infill projects like 557 The West Mall are essential to increasing rental housing supply in cities like Toronto, where land is limited,” said Howard Paskowitz, Starlight’s vice-president of development and public affairs.

A topping-off ceremony was held earlier this month. Most of Starlight’s developments comprise infill projects at sites that the company already owns.

“By utilizing the available land on our residential sites and leveraging existing infrastructure, we are creating new homes and amenities where people want to live and enhancing our rental communities,” said Paskowitz. “The topping off ceremony is a tribute to the skilled tradespeople and construction teams bringing this vision to life.”

Once complete, the building will contain one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, along with a fitness centre, games rooms, co-working spaces, a rooftop terrace and dog run. Residents will also benefit from improved landscaping, new pedestrian connections, bicycle parking and secure underground parking. The site is surrounded by schools, parks, community facilities and direct TTC access.

The milestone underscores Starlight’s broader development momentum and its ongoing role in delivering much-needed rental housing across Toronto, said the company.
