Starlight Tops Out Another Manchester Apartment Tower

Starlight Investments has topped out Spectra, a 34-storey build-to-rent apartment tower in Salford, England, marking the completion of the building’s highest structural point and the start of the final construction phase.

The milestone was celebrated with a topping-out ceremony attended by project partners and team members as work continues toward delivering 393 rental homes at the Greater Manchester location. The development, located near MediaCity at Broadway and South Langworthy Road, will include a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, along with townhouses, supported by amenities such as resident lounges, co-working areas, fitness facilities, landscaped green spaces and entertainment rooms.

“This development represents our continued investment in Greater Manchester’s growing rental market and commitment to creating a best-in-class residential community for future residents,” said Jonnie Milich, head of U.K. residential at Starlight Investments.

Toronto-based Starlight has partnered on the project with X1, a leading U.K.-base property developer.

Spectra is one of several projects underway in Starlight’s U.K. portfolio and represents the company’s second topping out in Greater Manchester this month. In the first project, Starlight topped out the 60-storey Trinity Heights build-to-rent project in Manchester. Starlight has established a U.K. portfolio of about 4,000 rental suites, with more than £1.1 billion in assets under management, as the company continues to expand its presence in key urban rental markets.
