Symons Valley Ranch Land on Sales Block

Development land at Calgary’s iconic Symons Valley Ranch is being listed for sale under a court order.

JLL Canada says the Court of King’s Bench retained it as the exclusive listing agent for the property at 14555 Symons Valley Road N.W. The asking price for the property at $33.5 million, on an as-is, where-is basis.

Symons Valley Ranch was launched as an entertainment venue in 1968 and featured many musical acts while also accommodating a popular, since closed farmers’ market. But the site was racked by two fires in more recent years and efforts to redevelop the land have stalled despite the City of Calgary’s efforts to fast-track them.

JLL touted the 30.63-acre site’s many scenic views. The property has a an approved land-use designation to permit a range of 2.0 and 3.0 floor area ratio, allowing for a variety of much needed housing and additional complementary retail space and amenities.

Calgary-based brokers Ryan Murphy and Isabelle Milligan are co-ordinating the listing for JLL.
