Thrive to Open New Data Centre in Montreal
Global tech firm Thrive has announced plans to open a new data centre in Montreal.
The new facility will support Thrive’s private cloud-based computing offering and enhance its ability to provide secure and reliable data services to Canadian businesses, the company said in a news release. Thrive did not provide details on the facility’s physical size or computing capacity.
The company said the project will be certified in accordance with Service Organization Control 2 compliance standards. SOC-2 certified data centres pass tests for security, processing integrity, privacy, and related issues, according to tech firm ZenGRC.
“Many organizations today are facing the daunting task of protecting and storing their critical data amidst an ever-changing cybersecurity landscape – and it is more important than ever to ensure data is housed properly,” said Scott Steele, Foxborough, Mass.-based Thrive’s chief operating officer. “Thrive’s customers in Canada will have access to not just a data centre, but a sustainable private cloud infrastructure solution, positioning their business for secure, scalable growth well into the future.”
Thrive is a technology outsourcing provider for cybersecurity, cloud, and IT managed services.
With data breaches continuing to rise, Thrive’s Montreal data centre aims to address growing concerns about cybersecurity. According to the Identity Theft Resource Center, data compromises in the first half of 2024 increased by 14% compared to the same period in 2023. Thrive’s new facility will provide businesses across Canada with advanced solutions to secure and manage sensitive data in an increasingly risky digital environment, said the company.
The Montreal data centre will join Thrive’s network of enterprise-class facilities offering customers a suite of benefits, including security, reliability, scalability and emergency backup.
Thrive said its growing presence in Canada underscores the company’s commitment to deliver innovative, scalable, and secure IT solutions.
