TOC Planned for Toronto’s Future Exhibition Station Area
The province and city are planning to develop a new transit-oriented community around Toronto’s future Exhibition Station.
“The proposed sites at the future Exhibition Station would deliver a mix of new housing, office and retail space,” states Infrastructure Ontario (IO) on its website.
IO says it is working on behalf of the province with the City of Toronto to develop transit and a TOC at the station. Exhibition Station is designed to be a transit hub that connects local bus, GO Transit and subway service along the Ontario Line.
Exhibition Station is slated to be the subway line’s western terminus. The station is slated to be constructed on two adjoining sites.
Plans call for the construction of 568 residential suites, including affordable housing units, and about 260,000 square feet of office space as well as approximately 47,000 square feet of new retail premises, according to an IO webpage.
