Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital Redevelopment Completed
The Ontario government has completed the $383-million redevelopment of Mount Sinai Hospital in downtown Toronto.
“Under the leadership of Premier Ford, our government is making record investments in hospital infrastructure to expand capacity across the province,” said Sylvia Jones, the province’s deputy premier and health minister, said in a news release.
“We are excited to mark the completion of the largest redevelopment in Mount Sinai Hospital’s history, ensuring families across the Toronto region are provided with the right care, in the right place, for decades to come.”
About 323,000 square feet of hospital space was renovated to construct a new, larger emergency department, a more modern intensive-care unit and better operating rooms.
“The new, more modern space will improve care for patients undergoing life-saving surgery, requiring emergency care, and for those with cancer,” said the province in the news release.
