U.S. Breakfast Chain Eggslut to Open First Canadian Location in Toronto

U.S.-based breakfast chain Eggslut will open its first Canadian location in the heart of downtown Toronto on Thursday, marking the start of a planned national expansion.

The chef-driven concept will debut at 545 King Street West, with a second Toronto restaurant at Yonge and Dundas street slated to open in summer 2026. Additional Canadian markets, including Vancouver, are also under evaluation, said the Los Angeles-based company.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2011, Eggslut built its reputation on elevated breakfast sandwiches and egg-focused dishes. The brand now operates locations across the United States as well as in the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia.

In Canada, Eggslut is operated by Westrich Hospitality, an independent franchise partner of ES Franchise, the brand owner and franchisor. The Toronto locations will be Canadian-run, with ingredients sourced from Ontario suppliers and staffing focused on local hiring. Burnbrae Farms will supply the eggs used across the menu.

Signature menu items include The Fairfax, featuring cage-free soft scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and sriracha mayo on brioche, and The Slut, a coddled egg served over potato purée with grey salt, chives and baguette slices.

“Eggslut started with a simple idea: take something familiar and make it exceptional,” said Andy Lee, co-owner of Eggslut. “From a food truck in Los Angeles to a global following, we’ve stayed focused on quality, consistency, and intention. Toronto is a city that truly shows up for food, and we’re excited to introduce Eggslut to the market and let the food speak for itself.”

Adam Flook, development lead at Westrich, said the company is focused on expanding Eggslut in Canada “the right way” with a “local-first mindset.”

“We’ve partnered with Canadian suppliers, hired a Canadian team, and approached this as a long-term investment in the market,” he said. “While the brand has global recognition, we’re delivering an authentic Eggslut experience that’s deeply rooted in the local community.”
