U.S. Energy Giant ExxonMobil Closing Moncton Office

ExxonMobil is closing its business support centre office in Moncton, N.B.

The office is located at 21 Ocean Line Way. Employees were informed of the decision by the global energy giant recently, according to multiple reports.

“We’ve decided to close our Moncton office as we focus on other global business centres,” Michelle Gray, a spokeswoman for Houston-based ExxonMobil, told CBC and other media outlets via email.

Approximately, 250 employees in Moncton are affected by the closure and will not be moved to other positions within the company, according to the provincial government. The company said in its email that affected employees will be offered counselling and benefits.

The province has also pledged to provide additional assistance through the Working NB web portal.

The City of Moncton has expressed disappointment with the closure, which will be completed by the end of 2026.
