Uniqlo Set to Open New Store at Liu’s Mayfair Mall

Japanese men’s and women’s clothing retailer Uniqlo will open its first Victoria, B.C., location on Friday.

The 15,000-square-foot store will be located at B.C. billionaire Ruby Liu’s Mayfair Shopping Centre. Liu failed in her bid to acquire 25 more former Hudson’s Bay Company store leases after securing three at each of her B.C. malls, including Maywood and two others the Greater Vancouver Area and Nanaimo, B.C., for $6 million.

To celebrate opening, the Mayfair location will host “a weekend of festivities” for the community, said Uniqlo.
