Urbania, FTQ Break Ground on U-Bahn Condos Project in Laval

Urbania and the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ have commenced construction on a new condominium development project in Laval, Que.

The U-Bahn Condos development site is located within a short walking distance of the Montmorency metro station. The project is situated at 1801 Rue Jacques-Tétrault, at the intersection of Boulevard Le Corbusier and Rue Jacques-Tétreault.

“The launch of this condominium project is a novel response to the housing shortage in Quebec,” said FTQ President and CEO Martin Raymond. “In light of the current market conditions, people are looking to buy. In fact, among our first clients, we have a majority of young people eager to make their first real estate purchase, as well as couples and retirees.”

The 16-storey building will contain 121 condo units. The suite mix will include 43 two-bedroom units ranging from 824 to 2,500 square feet, 145 one-bedroom units with 535 sf to 633 sf, and 32 studios sized between 423 sf and 455 sf.

Amenities will include a130,000-sf private park, reserved for co-owners, in the inner courtyard, along with well-designed common areas; a lounge-style lobby; coworking space on the 16th floor; a rooftop terrace; and a gym.

The U-Bahn name draw its name from Berlin’s subway stations. Occupancy is scheduled for fall 2026.
