Vantage Investing $500M in Fourth Quebec City Data Centre Project
Vantage Data Centers is investing $500 million to develop the fourth and final facility at its Quebec City campus.
The project will bring the Denver-based company’s total investment in the region to $2.5 billion. The new QC24 facility will add 32 megawatts (MW) of IT capacity, expanding the four-data-centre campus to 86MW.
Driven by strong demand for sustainable data centres, QC24 is being designed to meet LEED Gold certification standards. The facility will incorporate energy-efficient technologies, low-carbon emissions, and water conservation measures. It will also be powered by nearly 100% renewable energy from Hydro-Québec.
“This project will help drive innovation, meet cloud and AI demand, and create high-quality jobs while supporting a digital future in Quebec. said Maxime Guévin, a Vantage senior vice-president and general manager of the firm’s Canadian business.
The QC24 development is expected to be operational by early 2027. At its peak, the construction phase will employ up to 400 workers, and once completed, the facility will generate 100 full-time onsite jobs.
Vantage currently has four data-centre campuses in Quebec City and Montreal. Upon completion, these campuses will provide a total computing capacity of 178MW.
