Vessi Plans to Have Four Stores Open by Year-End 2024

Waterproof shoe retailer Vessi has announced plans to have four stores open by the end of 2024, solidifying its shift from a digital-only brand to a physical retail provider.

Vessi started as a direct-to-consumer (D2C) business and ventured into retail in 2022 with its first store at Metrotown in the Vancouver suburb of Burnaby, B.C. By year-end, Vessi will have three permanent stores, along with a pop-up location in Toronto’s Eaton Centre, said the Vancouver-based company.

Vancouver-based Vessi expects the brick-and-mortar stores to drive approximately 10% to 15% of its revenue this year.

The expansion has propelled Vessi into the nine-digit revenue range within just seven years, a major milestone for the bootstrapped company.

“It’s exhilarating for us to work on evolving our business from a 100% e-commerce model to an omni-channel one in the last two years,” said CEO Andy Wang.

Vessi is also planning to expand its physical-store footprint by moving into the U.S. in 2025.
