Western Communities Foundation Hands Out Infra Grants

The Western Financial Group Communities Foundation has awarded infrastructure grants to six Manitoba municipalities.

Each community will receive $5,000 to enhance, upgrade, or build vital community infrastructure. Each funded project supports sustainability, accessibility, health and safety while fostering meaningful community connection, said the foundation.

The funds will go towards:

  • An emergency preparedness project in Gillam, Man.
  • The Lynn Lake Arena Community Hub and Emergency Support Space in Lynn Lake, Man.
  • A backup power supply in the Rural Municipality of Woodlands.
  • Upgrading the Rossburn Municipality community core..
  • Bilingual communication boards in the Rural Municipality of Ritchot.
  • Well upgrades for the Richer Fire Department in the Rural Municipality of of Ste. Anne.

Founded in 2001, the foundation has invested $2.5 million in 490 community projects across Canada since the grant program was established.
