Essex Lease Financial Corporation has opened a new office in Edmonton as part of its continued expansion across Western Canada.

Located at 4212 Gateway Blvd. NW, south of Whitemud Drive, the new office spans more than 4,000 square feet and is designed to support collaboration and future growth. The space will accommodate Essex’s Edmonton-area team members and strengthen the company’s presence from British Columbia through Ontario, while maintaining its headquarters in Calgary.

“We see Edmonton as both a strategic market and a talent hub,” said Ross Sten, the company’s president and CEO. “This expansion allows us to better support our customers while continuing to invest in the people and partnerships that drive our success.”

Founded in 1986, Essex has grown into a 100-person organization with employees across Western Canada. The company said its expansion reflects growing demand for flexible financing solutions for Canadian businesses.

The new office will also be shared with Prairie Commercial Mortgage Corp. as part of a strategic partnership intended to provide integrated commercial mortgage and financial services solutions to customers.

Essex noted that it has expanded its operations over the past decade through initiatives including the launch of its rental fleet in 2018, the creation of the Essex Charity Golf Classic in 2021, and the acquisition of ATB’s Capital Asset Financing division in 2025.

The company said it plans to continue supporting business growth across Western Canada.
