Chick-fil-A Expanding Edmonton Footprint Again

Chick-fil-A is further expanding its Edmonton footprint with the opening a new restaurant on Thursday.

Known as Chick-fil-A the Meadows, the franchise outlet will be located at 4004 17th Street N.W.. The new restaurant will become the fourth Chick-fil-A location in the Alberta capital.

The new Edmonton restaurant will be owned and operated by franchisee Jhag Dhanju, an Edmonton native who has two decades of experience in the local restaurant industry, starting with his family’s Meridian Banquet business.

Chick-fil-A the Meadows will offer dine-in and drive-thru service from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and will employ approximately 90-110 full- and part-time employees, said Chick-fil-spokesman told Connect Canada CRE.

To celebrate the opening, Chick-fil-A will donate about $34,000 to a non-profit organization through Second Harvest, one of Canada’s largest food-rescue organizations.

The new Edmonton restaurant  will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which sends surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and non-profit groups in need.

Chick-fil-A opened its first Alberta location, and first outside of Ontario, at West Edmonton Mall in August 2024.

The chain opened its first Canadian location in 2019 in downtown Toronto.

Chick-fil-A licenses about 3,000 independently owned franchises in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
