Chick-fil-A Expands into Alberta
Chick-fil-A is expanding into Alberta with three new restaurant openings in Calgary and Edmonton.
The three sites will serve as the initial phase of a broader expansion strategy to develop about 20 locations in the province by 2030, said Chick-fil-A in a news release.
“Alberta has an incredible growth story and is an exciting place for us to continue our expansion in Canada,” said Paul Trotti, Chick-fil-A’s vice-president of international operations.
Construction kicks off this month on the first of the three restaurants, at West Edmonton Mall, which is slated to open by late summer 2024. Additional locations along Macleod Trail in Calgary and at South Edmonton Common are scheduled to commence construction later in the spring.
The forthcoming Calgary and Edmonton locations mark the chain’s debut outside Ontario since its Canadian launch in 2019 with the opening of a downtown Toronto restaurant.
Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A licenses more than 3,000 independently owned franchises in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
