Chick-fil-A Set to Open New Calgary Restaurant
Chick-fil-A will open its first Calgary restaurant on Thursday.
Known as Chick-fil-A Macleod Trail, the outlet will be located at 9223 Macleod Trail S.W. It will be owned and operated by franchisee Rob Bourassa, who was born and raised in Calgary.
The restaurant will offer dine-in and drive-thru service from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and will employ approximately 100-120 full- and part-time employees, a Chick-fil-A spokeswoman told Connect Canada CRE.
The opening is one of four Chick-fil-A restaurants being launched in Canada this year. Chick-fil-A announced earlier that it would open two outlets apiece in Alberta and one in Ontario.
The Calgary restaurant will be only the second Chick-fil-A location outside of Ontario following the August opening of an Edmonton restaurant. The Atlanta-based chain also opened a new outlet in Burlington, Ont., in early October.
Chick-fil-A intends to welcome patrons to another Ontario location, in Newmarket, by year-end 2024.
The four openings will increase Chick-fil-A’s Canadian restaurant count to 20. The chain opened its first Canadian location in 2019 in downtown Toronto.
Chick-fil-A licenses more than 3,000 independently owned franchises in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
