Chick-fil-A to Open Four New Restaurants in Ontario, Alberta
Chick-fil-A is set to expand its presence in Canada with the opening of four new restaurants in Ontario and Alberta by the end of the year.
The openings will give the U.S.-based restaurant chain 20 locations in Canada. The company announced that goal earlier this year.
The new franchises restaurants, which are all locally owned and operated, are nearing completion and will create approximately 400 jobs, Chick-fil-A said in a news release. Each location will offer dine-in, take-out, and drive-thru services.
The Chick-fil-A Appleby Crossing in Burlington, Ont., open on Thursday October 3. Later this year, the chain will open a new Calgary location, at 9223 Macleod Trail S.W., along with restaurants in Newmarket, Ont., (1111 Davis Drive) and Edmonton (2060 99 Street N.W.)
Chick-fil-A expanded into Alberta in August with the opening of a new location at West Edmonton Mall. That site and the forthcoming Calgary and Edmonton locations represent the chain’s initial expansion outside of Ontario. Chick-fil-A opened its first Canadian location in 2019 in downtown Toronto.
Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A licenses more than 3,000 independently owned franchises in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
