Leyad Opens Cashier-Less Grocery Store at Mont Carmel

Leyad has opened a cashier-less grocery store in its Residence Mont Carmel rental-apartment building in Montreal.

The fully automated Aisle24 store operates without on-site staff and allows customers to shop for everyday items using advanced technology.

Aisle24’s model relies on an app that enables customers to scan items and complete their purchases independently. The store offers round-the-clock access to groceries, snacks, beverages, and essential goods, serving residents and visitors alike. This approach is designed to reduce wait times and streamline the shopping process.

“We are thrilled to welcome Aisle24 to Residence Mont Carmel,” said,

“This innovative, staffless convenient store is a game-changer for Montreal’s retail landscape and aligns perfectly with our vision of creating tech-savvy, modern spaces that offer a seamless experience for residents and visitors,” said Henry Zavriyev, Leyad’s president.

“The opening of Aisle24 marks a significant step forward in our commitment to providing forward-thinking, convenient amenities at our properties.”

Leyad said the introduction of Aisle24 reflects the company’s broader strategy to integrate technology into its residential and retail developments. According to the company, Zavriyev has long advocated for the use of technological solutions to improve everyday living, and the addition of Aisle24 underscores Leyad’s commitment to offering convenient, modern services at its properties.

“We are continually exploring ways to bring technology and innovation to our properties, ensuring that our tenants and customers have access to the best possible services,” he said. “Aisle24 is a perfect fit for the Residence Mont Carmel community, and it sets the standard for what modern retail can—and should—look like.”
