P3 to Open Toronto Office Under New Partnership with Ruck Lane
Private Pension Partners (P3) is opening an office in Toronto under a new partnership with venture-capital startup firm Ruck Lane, the company announced Thursday.
The move is designed to help P3 expand and scale-up its operations, targeting new opportunities in Canada’s competitive commercial real estate sector. P3 said the expansion will include the appointment of a new executive to oversee the Toronto office, which will mark an important milestone in P3’s national growth strategy.
Winnipeg-based P3 offers a fully integrated real estate service platform to institutional and high-net-worth clients, including services in asset management, property management, leasing, and brokerage, as well as investment opportunities through private real estate vehicles. P3 manages Apartment Plus REIT, a stabilized portfolio of premium and luxury multi-family properties across Canadian markets, valued at $565 million.
The company’s mission is to enhance the experiences of investors, staff, tenants, and communities through value-driven real estate solutions.
P3 said its new partnership with Ruck Lane, led by former Cushman & Wakefield executive Chuck Scott, brings both expertise and valuable capital networks to the company’s growing platform.
“This strategic partnership allows P3 to continue its mission through a best-in-class, fully integrated real estate platform, now on an expanded scale,” said Don White, CEO of P3. “While our head office will remain in Winnipeg, we are excited to leverage our proven platform into key markets nationwide, and to create value by unlocking opportunities for our existing clients and investors, as well as new ones.”
Scott, Ruck Lane’s CEO, highlighted P3’s potential for growth.
“Ruck Lane is dedicated to working with real estate companies committed to realizing their full potential and leveraging economies of scale,” said Scott. “Since 2010, the P3 team has developed a robust platform and an impressive track record. We look forward to supporting their expansion into new markets across Canada.”
P3’s current leadership team will remain in Winnipeg while the new executive works out of Toronto.
Ruck Lane focuses on real estate investments. The Toronto-based company aims to redefine venture capital in real estate through a model that combines capital investment with strategic leadership.
Scott was formerly Cushman’s CEO for Canada and Latin America. He co-founded Ruck Lane with Mark Barr, who is chairing the firm and has more than 30 years in structured finance and mergers and acquisitions, and partner Terry Wallace, co-founder of Penalta Group.
Ruck Lane’s active portfolio includes interests in Black Dog Development, which focuses on commercial, industrial, and residential developments; Penalta, a leader in general contracting and construction management; and Protego Whole Home Solutions, a high-end residential concierge and property management firm.
