Petrozzi Joins Newmark as Canadian Research Head

Newmark has hired veteran commercial real estate researcher Andrew Petrozzi as its head of Canadian research.

Petrozzi will oversee the planning and execution of all of Newmark’s Canadian research initiatives, the company said in a news release.

“It was just an opportunity for me to join a company that was looking to grow and expand its footprint in the Canadian market,” Petrozzi told Canada Connect CRE, explaining his decision to join Newmark.

Petrozzi moves to U.S.-based Newmark from Altus Group, where he most recently served as the company’s head of commercial transaction-data solutions. Before joining Altus he managed Avison Young’s B.C. research program.

Prior to entering the commercial real estate industry with Avison Young in 2010, he was a journalist with Business in Vancouver and several other Lower Mainland publications.

“Bringing Andrew on board reflects Newmark’s commitment to expanding its Canadian presence,” said Norm Taylor, the firm’s president for Canada, in a news release.

Petrozzi will continue to be based in Vancouver.
