Sleep Country Opens Rest Concept Store in Toronto

Sleep Country has opened its first The Rest concept store at Toronto’s Yorkdale shopping centre.

“The 2,100-square-foot retail boutique will immerse customers with a bespoke shopping experience, providing them with the utmost personal care and guidance to find their absolute best rest,” Toronto-based Sleep Country said in a news release.

The Rest offers hand-crafted products that are only available at the Yorkdale store according to the mattress and bedding retailer. Many of the mattresses are hand-tufted and made from such materials as horsehair, which has anti-bacterial properties, Joma wool and alpaca fibre.

The first-to-market concept store complements the mall’s exclusive range of luxury home décor retailers, said Robert Horst, vice-president of retail for Yorkdale shopping centre owner Oxford Properties, in the news release.

Sleep Country expects to roll out stores under The Rest brand across Canada. In October, the company opened its first brick-and-mortar Silk & Snow furniture shop in Ottawa.
