Terraine Acquires Three Halifax-Area RONA Stores

Terraine Capital has acquired three Halifax-area RONA building-supplies stores from the company.

The stores are located in Halifax, Elmsdale, N.S., and Tantallon, N.S. Terraine is a Halifax-based commercial real estate investment and business development firm headed by Adam Barrett.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Terraine will operate the stores.

The company plans to expand its RONA store count in the region, Barrett said in a news release, according to the Elmsdale Laker.

β€œWe’re committed to building on the history and success of the RONA brand in Halifax and will focus on enhancing inventory, improving operations, customer service and supporting local developers and contractors in and around the [Halifax Regional Municipality],” said Barrett.

To accomplish that goal, Terraine has hired Kris Warren as its vice-president for Atlantic Canada and James Francis as regional operations manager. Both Warren and Francis have more than 30 years of building-supply industry experience.

Barrett founded Terraine, which he solely owns, in 2023. The company’s diverse holdings include BlackBay Real Estate and Unhinged Hospitality.
