Richard Geller launched ALTA Canada in 2020. The company invests in, develops and manages urban-located properties.

The company recently closed on the vacant Miséricorde hospital property in downtown Montreal. It plans to redevelop the site, with a 30-storey-plus, $500 million multifamily rental tower planned for the first phase. Alta is negotiating with groups about the remaining space on the site.

The company also acquired 2075 Robert-Bourassa, a high-rise office property in Montreal’s financial district and 1405 Bishop, a commercial space in downtown Montreal. Additional projects include the redevelopment of an old Montreal church into a mixed-use development.
