Carla Barney
Handles operations and management of over 40 properties
Implemented a new accounting software to streamline functions
As Atlas Development’s Senior Property Manager, Carla Barney oversees the property management and operations of over 40 properties in Calgary and the surrounding area. She handles budgeting and tenant relations while ensuring the company meets its revenue goals.
In 2024, Barney implemented a new accounting software, allowing more effective and accurate accounting functions company-wide. The software also led the company to restructure roles, promote employees and cut corporate operating expenses.
She regularly volunteers to mentor and train new hires, while planning the company’s social gatherings, summer events and Christmas celebrations.
Barney is actively involved with CREW, where she led the development of the new UCREW student program. She is also a member of the Women’s Center of Calgary’s board.
These are just some of the reasons why Connect Canada CRE honoured Carla Barney with a 2025 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award. The Women in Real Estate Awards celebrate the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
