Marija Finney is Co-Founder of Placemore Capital Inc., an advisory firm that works with investment managers/GPs and accredited investors to match the right solutions with the right partners.

She has more than 25 years of experience in institutional sales from her tenure with several large, global investment management firms such as Barclays Global Investors (now a part of BlackRock); Franklin Templeton Institutional, and TD Asset Management. While at BMO Global Asset Management, she built a team and developed and executed a strategy to grow the firm’s institutional business. Serving on Canadian leadership team, she was also an active member of the Investment Review Committee, the Risk Management Committee, and the Global Relationship Management Committee.

Finney previously sat on the Canadian Board of Directors for AIMSE, an Ambassador for WCM’s Women in Leadership, and is currently a Foundation Board member for United for Literacy, a national charitable organization.

Finney works as part of a closely knit team with Placemore Co-Founder Terri Troy, who has also captured a 2025 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award.

These are just some of the reasons why Connect Canada CRE honoured Marija Finney with a 2025 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award. The awards celebrate the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
