Prince Sees Unexpected Leap into Mortgage Brokerage Pay Off Quickly
Has Found Quick Success Following Unexpected Career Change
Strives to Be Transparent
Charlie Prince took a defining leap in 2024 when she launched her own mortgage brokerage in Quebec after more than three years working under others.
What began as an unplanned career path evolved into a clear foundation, shaped by her experience helping clients navigate major financial decisions and life milestones
Prince entered the mortgage industry after starting in finance at Desjardins, where two financial planners asked her to manage mortgage clients, she told Canadian Mortgage Professional. The experience shifted her perspective, revealing that mortgage brokering was less about transactions and more about supporting people through significant personal and financial decisions.
Prince, a self-employed mortgage professional affiliated with the Hypothécaire has found quick success after jumping into the unknown.
Her approach is built around availability, transparency, and trust, qualities that have helped create lasting relationships with clients and business partners. Prince emphasizes clear communication and hands-on guidance, positioning herself as a broker who prioritizes both financial advice and client confidence throughout the process, according to CMP, which bestowed with a CMP Emerging Leader Award based on her 2025 accomplishments.
As her business expanded, Prince recognized that growth required delegation. After initially managing every file herself, she hired an underwriter and later added another broker, allowing her business to scale while maintaining service quality. The shift transformed her brokerage into a collaborative operation capable of handling increasing demand without losing its personal approach.
The growth has been substantial. During the first months of 2025, her office rapidly increased production, reaching 253 disbursed files worth $100 million by spring, according to CMP. Prince credits much of that success to the collaborative culture created alongside her team members, which has enabled the business to maintain both efficiency and strong client service as it expands.
These are just a few reasons why we chose Charlie Prince as one of the Canadian 2026 Canadian Next Generation Award winners. The annual awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
