QuadReal Maintains Strong Revenue Stream After Selling The Post

Company:

QuadReal

In fall 2025, QuadReal completed the sale of The Post, an iconic mixed-use office and retail property in downtown Vancouver.

While QuadReal sold The Post for a strong return, the company maintained a strong revenue stream from the asset, retaining its role as the property manager. In addition, QuadReal ensured continuity of a high level of service for tenants and the community.

The buyer and purchase price were not disclosed. But according to multiple reports, QuadReal sold the landmark redevelopment of the city’s former central postal station to a company controlled by Spanish billionaire Amancio Ortega for $1.1 billion.

Michael Emmott, a principal of Avison Young, told Business in Vancouver, that the deal ranked as the largest single office-property sale in the city’s history. The purchaser bought The Post as part of its mandate to acquire the highest-calibre office properties in the world’s best-performing real estate markets, he added in the interview.

Developed by QuadReal, The Post project was one of the most ambitious heritage redevelopments in Canada’s history, according to the company.

Originally constructed in 1958, The Post was designed by McCarter Nairne & Partners, a leading Vancouver-based architectural firm. The redevelopment, which opened to occupants in 2023, renewed and restored many iconic building features while adding 1.1 million square feet of office space and a large retail atrium, creating what QuadReal called “a new hub of commerce and activity within the city.”

These are some of the reasons why QuadReal was honoured with a Connect Canadian Transactions of the Year Award for the sale of The Post in downtown Vancouver.
