First National Senior Analyst Taylor Brings Strategic Financing to Large-Scale Rental Housing
Expert in CMHC-insured, Construction, Conventional CRE Financing
Impacts Teammates Positively
As First National’s senior analyst in Calgary, Kyle Taylor plays a critical role in supporting the growth, quality and efficiency of the company’s commercial-mortgage portfolio.
As a subject-matter expert in CMHC-insured, construction, and conventional commercial real estate financing, he conducts detailed financial and risk analyses to guide informed lending decisions. These analyses include evaluating rent rolls, operating statements, borrower financials, and net-worth summaries to determine appropriate loan structures, terms, pricing and conditions.
His notable transactions included a $33.5 million CMHC takeout financing for Spring Willow, a 100-unit, purpose-built rental asset in Calgary. He also played a key role in underwriting $64.9 million in CMHC-insured construction financing for Academy at University District, a 222-unit, purpose-built rental development on a 99-year prepaid leasehold in Calgary.
Taylor also contributed to CMHC-insured mixed-use construction financing for Oak and Olive, a two-building, 216-unit rental project with a ground-floor retail podium in the city.
Through his involvement in team-level initiatives and peer-learning environments, Taylor demonstrates a level of engagement that positively impacts his teammates and the company. He is an active participant in industry-related events, including those organized by ULI and other groups.
These are just a few reasons why we chose Kyle Taylor as one of Connect’s 2026 Canadian Next Generation Award winners. The annual awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
